Staff Report
The powers
flexed their muscles and a hard luck team turned the tables in sectional action
Friday night. Both Fountain Central and Rockville recorded lopsided wins over
WRC foes. Rockville shut out Turkey Run 46-0 and the Mustangs stomped on Attica
55-6.
The surprise
of the evening was delivered by Riverton Parke. The Panthers, who had only won
twice in the regular season, defeated Covington 26-0. That was a startling
turnaround from just a week before when the Trojans had downed RP 45-6.
Elsewhere in
the league, North Vermillion slammed North Central of Farmersburg 41-14 while
Renssalaer edged Seeger 20-14.
The results
set up a pair of WRC showdowns in the second round. Rockville will travel to
North Vermillion while Fountain Central will visit Riverton Parke.
